The purpose of this sample checklist is to provide a general framework for
telecommuting in State agencies. It does not attempt to address the special
conditions and needs of all individual agencies. When developing a
telecommuting policy, an agency should consult with its legal counsel to
determine if the language meets the agency’s specific needs.

Success of a telecommuting arrangement depends on a realistic assessment of the
alternate work space and the ability of the employee to successfully complete
his work in this environment. The telecommuter must assess the alternate work
space to ensure that the space is adequate, safe, and hazard free.

physical harm (e.g. frayed wires, bare conductors, loose wires, flexible wires

___ There is a working smoke detector detectable to the alternate work space.
